I’m a huge fan of pies but I have to say the vegetarian options on offer in most places are pretty depressing – they really don’t have to be! I often see leek and potato pies on menus/in stores and I never want to give it a go because it sounds so bland and boring. But curiosity got the better of me so I decided to experiment a bit and make my own with some roasted sweet peppers to bring colour and excitement to a creamy leek and potato pie.

It’s finally acceptable to indulge in festive hot chocolates! Fair warning, this hot chocolate is not for the faint hearted or those who have ambivalent feelings towards chocolate (monsters). I have a very low success rate with powdered hot chocolates and I feel they’re often not rich or velvety enough to be indulgent. So this recipe has both cocoa powder and real chocolate for that luxurious texture you know you need for a Christmassy hot chocolate. Enjoy!

Let’s be honest, it’s really difficult to find a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavour that you don’t like and I’ve been loving the Netflix & Chill’d ice cream they came out with recently (very appropriate for life in 2020). I then remembered the iconic Chunky Monkey flavour they’d done and got hit with the idea of Chunky Monkey crepes – so good!
